The musician was scheduled to perform at a concert in Awka, Anambra state, on Saturday.
On Sunday, a video from the show surfaced online, in which Iyanya is seen knocking a fan off the stage.
When he was knocked down, the fan was throwing Naira bills at the singer in a celebratory gesture.
Iyanya claimed that a fan had repeatedly slapped him with money in the aftermath of his reaction.
In a Twitter post, Iyanya stated that he tried to stop the fan from hitting his face with money, but he refused.
“The guy kept slapping my face with the money. And I tried to hold his hand he continued,” Iyanya tweeted.
“First, no matter how much you are spraying, don’t slap someone with it. That’s disrespectful.”
