VIDEO: How South African teens Built a plane in 10 days

I just came across a video by BBC on a group of twenty teenagers in South Africa who built their own plane from scratch and are flying it from Cape Town to Cairo.

The teenagers are Agnes 15, Lesogo 16, Megan 17 and Resego 18 who is the Head of a foundation supporting the project.

The plane will fly from Cape town to Namibia, Zambia, Lake Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia before landing in Cairo.

With the support of U-Dream Global, an NGO, the teenagers built different parts of the plane including the fuselage and the horizontal and vertical stabilisers.

BBC Africa’s children’s programme BBC What’s New went to find out how they did it.
